Law wins championship

Cody Law won a wrestling championship at 157 pounds., and Tyler Reinhart was the runner-up at 165 pounds. They lead a group of five Mountain Cats who placed in the top-five at Saturday’s 2016 PSAC Wrestling Championships at Lock Haven University.  Pitt-Johnstown finished first among the eight Division II teams and fifth overall with 72 points.

Following a bye in the first round, Law coasted into the finals with a 23-8 technical fall over Seton Hill’s Damon Greenwald and a 22-6 technical fall over Lock Haven’s Kyle Hammond.  In the title bout, Law defeated Edinboro’s Chase Delande, 8-3, to secure the championship.

The Mountain Cats are to wrestle its next home match  on Jan. 13 against Lake Erie, Ohio.
