Baseball team improves

The Mountain Cat baseball team had two straight wins, improving their record to 2-3 over the weekend.

The team lost their first two games to University of North Carolina-Pembroke. They lost their first game 6-1, and lost their second game 13-7 Feb. 6.

No. 17 Millersville University built a 10-2 lead after five innings before adding 11 more runs to defeat the Mountain Cats 21-1 Feb. 19 in Williamston, North Carolina.

The Mountain Cats hit four home runs Feb. 20 against Indiana University of Pennsylvania to gain a 15-9 win to snap their losing streak.

Senior Jake Stern had two home runs, and junior Dillon Boyer added three hits and a home run along with a solo home run from senior Nate Negri.

Nico Pecora held the Crimson Hawks scoreless over the final two innings to secure his first save of the season.

Feb. 21 the Mountain Cats held off Bloomsburg University to gain an 8-7 win.

Sophomore Mason Prickett hit a three-run home run  to help the baseball team hold off a late rally by Bloomsburg University to earn their second non-conference win of the season.
