Students receive magistrate charges

Pitt-Johnstown police charged student Brandon Cain, 20, of West Newton Borough, Westmoreland County, with disorderly conduct Aug. 27.

Campus Police Officer Glenn Berkey alleged, in a citation filed Aug. 28, Cain had intended to cause public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm after he used obscene language in public during college move-in.

In the same citation, Berkey alleged that Cain had screamed “(F word) you, Dylan” while families were helping students move in.

A $260 fine was listed for the offense.

Pitt-Johnstown police charged student Tristan Grassmyer, 19, of Altoona, Blair County, with purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of liquor, malt or brewed beverages Sept. 4.

In a citation filed Sept. 5 by Berkey, Grassmyer consumed malt or brewed beverages while being less than 21 years old.

In the same citation, Berkey alleged that Grassmyer had glassy, bloodshot eyes, a strong odor of alcohol and slurred speech.

A $460 fine was listed for the offense.

Pitt-Johnstown police charged students Timothy A. Becker Jr., 19, and Hunter Link, 19, both of Altoona, with disorderly conduct Sept. 12.

In citations filed Sept. 13 by campus Police Officer Dan Smith, he alleged that Becker and Link had created a hazardous or physically offensive condition by smoking marijuana in an apartment at the College Park Apartments.

A $260 fine was listed for Becker’s offense.

A $260 fine also was listed for Link’s offense.
