Student faces traffic and alcohol fines

Pitt-Johnstown police charged Andrew Kocan Jr., 20, of Johnstown with public drunkenness and failure to stop at a stop sign March 25.

Officer Edward Ostrowski said he saw Kocan driving a gray Mazda on Picking Drive while under the influence of alcohol, according to a citation.

Ostrowski said Kocan was a danger to himself and others in the vehicle.

A $254.50 fine was listed for the public drunkenness charge.

Kocan was also charged for driving through a stop sign without slowing down, according to a citation.

A $128.50 fine was listed for the traffic charge.

According to Judge John Barron’s Magistrate secritary, a DUI was not issued.
