A lot of buzz is circulating about the upcoming annual UPJ spring concert.
Luke Trotz is in charge of live entertainment for the UPJ Programming Board, he said board members are working to find a performer that fits a budget they have been provided.
The concert is to take place Friday or Saturday night in April. The event will be held in the Pitt-Johnstown Sports Center.
Some of the performers being considered include, but are not limited to, Hunter Hayes, Gloriana and Taking Back Sunday. The Lumineers are also a possibility.
Trotz said board members of the board have contacted managers for performers.
“We send them a list of who we are interested in.”
The managers then forward a list of performers who are available within the price range, Trotz said.
The performer sends a contract of what they expect and wish to have when they arrive at for the concert. Programming Board members and UPJ administrators are responsible to fulfill these requests.
UPJ has had well-known artists at past spring concerts. Hip-hop artist J. Cole appeared at the 2012 spring concert.
The concert is to be advertised on campus to students and also to the public. Forever Broadcasting advertises the event on the radio and also television commercials to promote the concert.
As soon as Programming Board members receive confirmation that a performer is available, the concert will be booked and then announced.
