Worker dies in fatal fall

A man suffered a fatal fall on Dec. 10 while working at the Nursing and Health Sciences building construction site.

The incident happenedat 8:30 a.m., University officials sent out an email about the incident approximately one hour afterward,  saying the man was not a Pitt-Johnstown employee.

The man, George Adams III, 57, of Davidsville, Somerset County, was pronounced dead at 1:59 p.m. at the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.

According to the Tribune-Democrat, the man fell approximately 14 feet to the ground, and he was employed by Nevin Stitzer Contracting, a company based in State College, Centre County.
