Student Senate officers March 12 released next year’s organization budgets, with approximately $388,000 distributed among student organizations and to emergency fund.
The Programming Board, the panel responsible for scheduling campus entertainment, received the largest portion: nearly $160,000.
According to Student Senate reports, some 15 organizations did not request student money; one, the Japanese Anime Club, apparently completed forms incorrectly and received nothing.
More than half of the organizations that budgeted last year received less for 2012-2013, a drop attributed partly to an enrollment decrease this academic year.
And while some groups – including the Marketing Management Association and Sigma Tau Delta – saw large increases from last year, others were hit hard: WUPJ Radio took at 64-percent cut and UPJ-TV received a fraction of its request for the second year in a row.
