Students have a few days to cast their vote for the costume they want Humanities professors to wear for Halloween.

Voting started Tuesday.

Students can vote in the Biddle Hall first floor lobby.

There will be two jars for each participating teacher on the table, and students can vote by putting money in the jar of their selected costume.

The costume jar with the most money per professor will be the costume that is to worn.

Professors are to dress up either Oct. 29 or 30, depending on whether they lecture on Thursdays or Fridays.

Sigma Tau Delta Honors Society is in charge of holding the contest.

According to society’s president, Jacob Williamson-Rea, the donations will toward their March trip to a national convention in Minneapolis.

“We’ll either present or take part in lectures they have going on,” said Williamson-Rea.

Depending on how voting goes, the society may opt to continue raising money for the trip.

“We might keep the table open the week after Oct. 26,” said Williamson-Rea.

As of Oct. 16, nine Humanities professors had accepted participation in the contest. English professor Kimberly Douglas participated last year.

“They asked me to be Queen of Hearts,” she said, “but I didn’t win. I dressed up as a doctor,” she added.

“They typically go with a theme,” Douglas said. “This year’s theme is still a surprise.”
