A spring concert featuring Timeflies and Mike Stud is to be held on March 28, in the Pitt-Johnstown Sports Center.
Students can purchase tickets at the Student Union information desk for $10 with a Pitt-Johnstown student ID, and $30 online for nonstudents.
The doors are to be open for the concert at 7:30 p.m. and music is to begin at 8 p.m.
Programming Board members are responsible for planning the spring concert. According to Programming Board president Casey Ansbro, the performers’ selection is a process that involves input from students and cost consideration.
First, Programming Board members construct a survey. Once students complete the survey, Ansbro said the results are recorded and the artists most frequently requested are considered.
The performers are then chosen based on popularity, cost and availability.
Timeflies began in 2010 when they released a debut album, “The Scotch Tape.” Since then, they have released the album “After Hours” along with several single songs.
Their most popular song, with 31,996,849 saves on Spotify, is “All the Way” and their latest release is “NSFW.”
Timeflies toured in the fall of 2014 and made a stop in Pittsburgh at Stage AE on Dec. 8. They also are to be performing a spring concert this year at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
On the Ticketmaster webstie, Timeflies received a 4.7 out of 5 star review on their overall performances.
“I think Timeflies has a lot of talent and spirit. I think they will make a great concert for the students of UPJ and the community to enjoy,” said Ansbro.
